What I love

I’ve always been drawn to things that move—whether it’s the perfect shot through a camera lens, the hum of a finely tuned engine, or the roar of a jet overhead. I’m a portrait photographer with a passion for capturing real moments and natural light. Photography started as a casual hobby—just me, a camera, and the need to document life as it happened. Over time, that instinct evolved into a creative outlet and now, a side business that allows me to blend artistry with storytelling.

Cars are my first love. My dad’s 1989 Nissan Sentra sparked it, but Honda sealed the deal in the ’90s. I spent several years selling Hondas in my hometown, and I still follow the auto industry closely—especially where engineering, branding, and innovation collide. That passion runs so deep, I centered my doctoral dissertation on the automobile industry, with a touch of aviation woven in for good measure.

Speaking of flight, I’m equally fascinated by commercial aviation—from aircraft design and route strategy to how airlines shape passenger experience and loyalty. I’m also a lover of smart gadgets and clean, intuitive design—whether it’s home automation, camera gear, or the latest innovations in tech.

Music has been part of my story for as long as I can remember. I grew up immersed in the world of marching bands and drum corps, and that rhythm still lives in me. My playlists range from soulful jazz and classic R&B to contemporary hip-hop and orchestral film scores—anything that moves with purpose and emotion.

Professionally, I’ve spent my career in higher education, helping students navigate their journeys and build lives of meaning and impact. Outside of work, you’ll find me road cycling through the countryside, planning my next Caribbean cruise, or dialing in the lighting for a photo shoot.

Whether it’s capturing light, chasing roads, syncing to sound, or looking skyward—my life is guided by movement, creativity, and a deep love for the experience of being fully present.

My equipment and gear

After an initial and inexpensive foray into photography (I bought a Canon Rebel T7/1500), I quickly upgraded to a Canon EOS R. Many photographers will tell you that a good camera body is important, but having the right "glass" (camera lenses) is even more important in getting the best shots. I am still working on the craft, but I have invested quite a bit into the art.
